Oslo By Night

LOS ANGELES JANUARY 17, 2012:

When we think of Oslo we normally do not think about high crime or that we need to worry about our safety in this Western modern country. But recent events has caused many countries to issue travel warnings to their citizens. There are several things you can do to keep yourself from becoming a victim and they are for the most part common sense things but not things we are concerned about when we are at home.

Tips: Don't walk alone at night and if you have to be out without a group then have your hotel arrange a hotel car not a taxi off the street.
Remain in well lighted areas with heavy traffic and resist the temptation to take short cuts through dark streets or parks.
Be aware of your surroundings at all times, see potential threats and take evasive action before they become actual threats.
Trust your instincts. If something seems wrong it probably is, get yourself out of the area and don't be embarrassed to draw attention to yourself to survive.
Keep your cell phone with you and charged up and if in a situation which causes you concern have it in your hand and ready to call for help. The police emergency number in Oslo is 112 and if in doubt call it for help.

These are just a few simple tips and if you want "Peace of Mind" for your trip contact us for a security travel plan and up to-date intelligence on what the security and crime situation is where you are going.
